st. louis park transitional interior

This elegant blend of modern and traditional stylings purveys the entire main level of this newly renovated home in St. Louis Park. Filled with spaces that juxtapose each end of the style spectrum, the house tactfully demonstrates how pops of color, rigid geometries and dramatic elements can coexist within traditional spaces. The functional buffet grounds the dining room while a live edge table, LED-linear light fixtures, and a robust coffered ceiling interact together. Similarly, clean, white kitchen cabinets form the background of more dynamism: the quartz counters roll up the wall to create movement in the backsplash while lighting features enhance small opportunities for personality, like the rainbow of cookbooks and vintage Galaxy syrup bottles of the 1950s. And, by converting all the standard windows into picture windows mulled above awnings, we altered their beautiful pond views with a strong filter of mid-century modern style.
